Session Two

April 10 at 7pm BST

Make the herbal medicine step by step with me. You can forage the herb or buy it fresh from the supermarket.

Session Three

April 24 at 7pm BST

Strain and bottle the medicine you have made, leaving with your very first homemade herbal remedy.

Have you ever wanted to make your own herbal medicine… …but felt unsure where to begin?

Maybe you have a few herbal books on the shelf. Maybe you have watched a few videos. Maybe you have even picked a plant or two and thought…

"I should really do something with that."

But then the questions start:

Am I using the right plant?
What if I get it wrong?
Do I need lots of special equipment?
Do I need to know loads about herbs first?

So the books stay on the shelf... And the herbs stay in the garden!

This challenge is designed to change that.

During this three session live challenge, I will guide you step by step through making real herbal remedies with your own hands.

You will not just be learning about herbs. You will be making medicine with them. Just like herbalists have always done!Together we will work with simple fresh herbs and turn them into remedies you can use and keep.

By the end of the challenge you will have:

  • Made your own herbal medicine from start to finish

  • Learned a simple traditional method of herbal preparation

  • Discovered the folklore and story connected with the plant

  • Gained the confidence to start making herbal remedies yourself

Your investment

The full three session live challenge is just £29

That is less than the cost of most herbal books, but instead of just reading about herbs…

You will be making real medicine.

Frequently asked questions

You've got questions. We've got answers.

Do I need any experience with herbal medicine?

No. This challenge is designed for beginners. I will guide you step by step through the process so you can follow along with confidence.

Do I need to forage the herb myself?

Not at all. You can either forage the herb or buy it fresh from the supermarket. I designed the challenge this way so anyone can take part, wherever they live.

Do I need lots of equipment?

No special equipment is needed. Most people already have everything they need in their kitchen. I will send a simple list before we begin so you can prepare.

What if I cannot attend one of the sessions live?

All sessions will be recorded, so you will be able to watch them afterwards and follow along in your own time. Recordings will be available until April the 30th 2026.

Do I need to be Welsh to join?

No. The herbal knowledge I share is rooted in the history, traditions and folklore of Wales, but this challenge is open to anyone, wherever you are in the world. If you feel drawn to herbs, plants and their stories, you will feel right at home.

Meet Your Host

Hi, I’m Salena Walker.

I am a herbalist, naturopath and teacher who has spent over forty years working with medicinal plants and more than twenty years teaching others how to recognise and use them.

I was raised in the South Wales valleys where the landscape, language and traditions of Wales shaped the way I understand plants and healing. I grew up watching my parents, grandparents and great grandparents squeeze food and medicine into the small back gardens of our traditional terraced house.

My deeper study of herbal medicine began after being diagnosed with the autoimmune condition Pernicious Anaemia. That experience led me to study naturopathy and herbalism in depth and eventually to become a practitioner and teacher.

Today my work focuses on Wild Welsh Herbalism®, exploring the relationship between plants, place, folklore and healing traditions in Wales. Through my teaching I help people rediscover the knowledge that once lived in everyday Welsh life and show how it can still be used today.
